Nursery Apprentice

Location: Looe Primary Academy

Closing Date: 03/06/2024

Looe Primary Academy is looking for an apprentice who would like to start their career in childcare in our wonderful school and nursery environment. The apprenticeship will give you the opportunity to gain a recognised qualification in the early years and you will learn many practical skills and the knowledge required to succeed in this rewarding career.

Looe Primary provides a friendly and professional team. The nursery caters for children from the age of 2 – 4 years of age and enjoys a dedicated safe and well-resourced environment that enables children to flourish and to learn. The setting has its own room and outdoor space and the children have the opportunity to explore our extensive grounds and outdoor spaces on a regular basis.

Some of the skills required include:
• The ability to work both as a part of a small nursery team but also the wider staff group
• A warm, smiley nurturing approach that children will enjoy and which will enable them to feel special in your care
• A resilient approach where nothing phases you – you will change nappies, be an endless number of characters to play with throughout the day, need to laugh at things such as jokes that the children tell you, even if you do not understand, not be phased by some of the actions that the children will display and an ability to deal with almost anything that a day can throw at you
• A strong desire to enable children to flourish, learn and grow in every action they take when they are in the nursery

In return, you can expect to receive high quality support and training, in a school that is well respected in its community and in a setting that provides wonderful sea views and in a great community.

Becoming an apprentice can be a daunting decision to make, so if you would like a tour of the school and to meet the team, get in touch and we will provide a warm welcome.
